So when I found the Abitart hotel I knew we were on the right direction. It is a 4-stars hotel located in Ostiense, next to the metro and train station (Italo trains arrive here as well) and most importantly, next to Eataly! It has been recently refurbished, it has clean rooms with spacious bathrooms and an average breakfast in a nice terrace. We also heard from local friends that their restaurant is good.

The area is not the nicest but in the corner of the hotel there are a couple of buses that get you to the center and also the metro, which takes you to the Colosseum in 5 minutes. Testaccio, the nightlife quarter full of bars and restaurants is also a 5-minute-walk away.
We got a good price that met our budget - when I was comparing hotels, we could have gotten a room in a horrible 3-star old hotel in the center for the same price.

There's no pool or spa but in a city like Rome, you just need a clean place to sleep and shower after an exhausting day of sightseeing.
Rooms have TV, air conditioning, minibar (and a complimentary bottle of water), slippers, small deposit box, closet, bathroom with tub/shower and toiletries.
When we'll come back to Rome we'll definately be staying here again!
