Bankeråt, Copenhagen

When I get asked what is my favorite place to hang out in Copenhagen I have no doubt in answering "Bankeråt".

Bankeråt is a 'weird' bar in the Norreport area of Copenhagen (a couple of blocks from Torvehallerne), an area filled with vintage shops, italian, sushi & tapas restaurants, bakeries and bohemian-style cafes, like Bankeråt. This is the typical place where a hipster would hangout.

The decor is bizarre but cool, dollheads as lamps, stuffed animals, old furniture, dusty mirrors, etc. (I've heard the guys' restroom is cool)

I mostly came here for coffee, they have tasty cafe lattes, and I guess even the espressos are good since the italian guys from the gelato shop nearby usually hang out here. I remember their sandwiches and brunches are also very good.

This a place you could spend hours at chatting or reading a magazine or paper from their rack, it gives you a relaxing vibe.
