Casa Ramen, Milan

We finally made to this famous tiny ramen place in Isola...
... and ramen here is as good as it gets.

Casa Ramen has been open for about a year in the hipster Isola quarter. Due to its tiny size, only about 20 places, and its no reservations policy, plus its popularity being ramen the new fashion in town, we had tried to get a table a couple of times with no success until now.
Friday evening, 5 minutes before 8 pm (that's the opening time for dinner), it's only us two so we get 2 stools in the long high table, place fills quickly and a line forms outside. Anyhow, we order a starter, 2 asian mini burgers (6 euro) with spiced pork, vegetables, peanuts, sweet chili sauce and fresh coriander, nice for an amuse-bouche.
Then the ramen, while I got the Miso on fire, G had the Miso ramen (11 euro each), both with pork broth tonkatsu style, chashu pork, egg, cabbage, corn and bamboo; mine was spicy. So, the consistency of the broth this time is the best feature for me. It was thick enough, the noodles were perfectly cooked and all ingredients mixed nicely for a perfect dish.
Of the 2/3 places I've had ramen at in Milan, this is where it tasted the most authentic and the broth was as thick as it should be, whereas at another place, it was more creative, broth was lighter and ingredients were more 'gourmet'. So, finally, we have 2 nice places in town where we can enjoy good ramen, just in time for the coming autumn/winter season!
