Pappafò

A couple of weeks ago while visiting Le Marche we decided to have lunch at Pappafò, a cozy country house between Castelraimondo and Camerino. It's been open for some years now and everytime we eat there we are happy so it's a safe choice and this time was as expected.

Pappafò was a typical dish in this area, simple and made with vegetables available at the time like cabbages, herbs and other vegetables, boiled and seasoned with olive oil and salt.
The menu at Pappafò Country House changes depending on the season, we have eaten here delicious juicy meats in the winter, super fresh fish in the summer and now, in the spring, season vegetables like asparagus. As starters we had the cold cuts and cheese dish, delicious meat strips with parsley and sesame sauce, gratin potatoes and asparagus and a cold salad of lentils and spelt. I then had the pasta with asparagus, sausage and grated ricotta and G had the goose in vinsanto sauce. Everything was good, portions were hearty, with fresh ingredients. Their wine list is very good and prices are fair (we had the Lacrima di Morro from Velenosi, excellent!). And the location is simply perfect, a nice villa overlooking the green Marche hills.
If you are in the area, this is a good option for lunch or dinner (they also have pizza)!
