Sangrita

One of the great activities at Zoetry Casa de Mar was the Tequila tasting.

We met Tomas, the bar tender, at the Maguey bar. He was great explaining the different types of tequila and how to drink them. For more information on that, check out this post about Tequila.
He also taught us how to prepare Sangrita, the tomato beverage that is served with tequila.
Here's his recipe:

1/2 liter of tomato juice
1/2 liter of orange juice
1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
some drops of Tabasco sauce
a pinch of salt
and his secret ingredient (not so secret anymore): 1 teaspoon of Grenadine syrup
Mix all ingredients, taste it and add more of what you think it needs: if you like it spicy more Tabasco or salt, if you like it sweeter, more grenadine, if you like it less spicy add more juices.
Serve chilled in a tequila glass, with another glass of tequila.

We even learned how to make cucumber glasses to serve tequila in them!

Cheers to a great week at Zoetry Casa del Mar!
We had a wonderful stay, staff was amazing, the place is beautiful, food is delicious and there's a relaxing atmosphere that makes you feel like new, and wishing to go back ASAP!
