We decided to stay at the Fontecruz mainly because of its location, just 200 meters away from the Cathedral, and we were glad we did because it was nice to stay in a central place after walking under the hot summer sun in Seville.
The hotel used to be a school and from the outside you might expect a typical decor, but everything is refurbished with a modern twist creating a nice contrast with the exterior.
The highlight is the rooftop, from where you can enjoy wonderful views of the Cathedral while sipping a (pricey) drink.
The pool is the perfect place to relax after a full day walking under the Seville sun.
Don't try to get here by car, unless you're a super skilled driver or have a Smart because streets are very narrow and you might get stuck, even taxi drivers won't be willing to bring you all the way to the entrance of the hotel, but might drop you at a nearby street a few steps from the hotel.
Other nice touches of this hotel, part of the Authograph Collection of Marriott Hotels, include fresh water on arrival, bike rental, a small spa and an on-site restaurant and bar (which we didn't try).
